Police make arrest after man shot and killed in Birmingham dispute

PRATT CITY, Alabama — Birmingham police say they're apprehended a man suspected of shooting and killing another man during a dispute in the Pratt City area.

WBRC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1w6y7t9) that officers sent to Columbia Street around 7 p.m. Wednesday found man lying on the floor in the front room of a residence. The man, whose name wasn't released, was suffering from gunshot wounds to the neck and shoulder area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Birmingham police Lt. Sean Edwards says the dispute involved a woman's ex-boyfriend and her new boyfriend.

Few other details were immediately available early Thursday.
