HONOLULU — A 32-year-old woman is recovering from a gunshot apparently fired Monday night on a Waikiki street.
Honolulu police say the woman and a friend were walking at about 6:30 p.m. on Liliuokalani Avenue near the Pacific Beach hotel.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (http://bit.ly/Iet8OJ) reports they report hearing a popping sound.
The wounded woman turned to her friend and reported she had been shot in the upper torso.
The women could not tell where the gunshot had come from.
The injured woman was taken by paramedics to Queen's Medical Center. Police say she was in serious condition but stable.
Police closed Liliuokalani Avenue from Prince Edward Street to Kuhio Avenue to look for witnesses.
