Search underway for 2 Concordia Parish inmates


VIDALIA, Louisiana — A search is on for two Concordia Parish prisoners who have been missing since Monday.

Sheriff's office spokesman Vernon Stevens tells The Natchez Democrat ( ) that officials at Concordia Parish Correctional Facility first noticed 22-year-old Christopher Higginbotham and 22-year-old Michael Wayne Parker were missing around 9 p.m. Monday.

Stevens said officials don't know how the inmates left the prison, but family members and other contacts in the area are being questioned and a bulletin has been put out to all state agencies.

Higginbotham is described as a white male, with brown hair, 5feet9inches tall and weighing 153 pounds. Parker is described as a white male, with reddish hair, who is 5feet10inches and weighs 220 pounds.

Stevens said neither inmate was in prison for a violent crime.
