PEORIA, Arizona — Police say a man shot his brother to death after learning he and his ex-wife had been sexually intimate.

The Arizona Republic reported (http://bit.ly/1ry8uLm) Tuesday that police records indicate 39-year-old Christopher Michael Wasar was angry that ex-wife Jessica Wasar had sex with 45-year-old Matthew Wasar in order to obtain drugs.

Authorities allege Christopher and Jessica Wasar forced their way into Matthew Wasar's apartment Saturday and held a roommate at gunpoint for at least five minutes before leaving.

They then encountered Matthew Wasar outside.

Witnesses told police Christopher Wasar punched his brother in the face before shooting him once in the chest.

According to police records, the suspect says he acted in self-defense because the victim charged at him with a knife.

Witnesses and Jessica Wasar have disputed that allegation.
