1 man killed, 3 injured in overnight fire at Baltimore County apartment building

OWINGS MILLS, Maryland — A fire that swept through a Baltimore County apartment building has killed one man and injured three others.

The Tuesday morning fire broke out at an apartment in Owings Mills. Emergency crews took four people to a hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead.

A resident at the apartment told WBAL-TV that she was able to escape the fire after her mother woke her up and they ran for it. She says once they got outside, they saw a couple in a second-floor apartment who were calling for help. The resident says firefighters were able to rescue the couple.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
