High Point police arrest 2 men suspected in interstate theft ring involving heavy equipment

HIGH POINT, North Carolina — High Point police have arrested two men believed to be part of an interstate theft ring which involves numerous vehicles, lawn equipment and other heavy equipment from at least four states.

Police said 23-year-old Antonio Lamont Campbell of Adams Run, South Carolina, and 24-year-old Yuri Delandre Monroe of High Point each face 12 felony charges and two charges of receiving stolen property. Authorities also said 30-year-old Christopher Black is currently jailed in South Carolina and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina to face charges.

Campbell and Monroe are in the Guilford County jail. Campbell is held on a $400,000 bond and Monroe on a $300,000 bond. It's not known if either man has an attorney.

Authorities said 27-year-old Maurice Lamar Mitchell remains at large and warrants are outstanding for his arrest.
