Construction worker killed by falling steel beams at Barclays Center in Brooklyn


NEW YORK — A construction worker at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was crushed to death when several steel beams fell on him.

According to the New York Post ( ), the worker's employer, Greenland Forest City Partners, said it happened while the man was installing a "green roof" on the arena just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire officials say the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The worker's name has not yet been released.

Authorities are investigating.
