Chyzyk gets game-winner as North Dakota beats Colorado College 5-3; stays unbeaten on Saturday

GRAND FORKS, North Dakota — Bryn Chyzyk's goal midway through the third period carried North Dakota to a 5-3 win over Colorado College Saturday in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.

Chyzyk's goal at 8:41 made it 4-2 and allowed UND to withstand Aaron Harstad's goal with an extra attacker at 18:07.

Drake Caggiula scored an empty-netter in the closing seconds for second-ranked UND (18-5-2, 9-4-1), which improved to 12-0-1 on Saturday. It was North Dakota's fifth straight win.

North Dakota also stayed unbeaten (15-0-1) when taking a lead into the third period.

UND's Luke Johnson and Stephane Pattyn traded first-period goals with Charlie Taft and Scott Wamsganz of Colorado College (5-16-1, 1-11-1).

Mark MacMillan broke the tie and Chyzyk netted the game-winner midway through the third period.

North Dakota goalie Zane McIntyre made 25 saves to win his nation-leading 18th game of the season.

Tyler Marble had 30 saves for the Tigers.
