Anchorage man to serve 4 years for possessing child pornography

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A 57-year-old Anchorage man will serve four years in prison after his conviction of possession of child pornography.

The Alaska Department of Law says in a release that Mark Coombs was sentenced Friday in Anchorage Superior Court.

Anchorage police say Coombs sent videos of the sexual abuse of children to an undercover officer. Police said they found nearly a 1,000 images and videos depicting young children being abused in his home. He was arrested in November.

Officials say there's no evidence he harmed or attempted to harm children in Alaska.
