Little Rock police find woman dead in home, man who shared the home being questioned

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Police say a woman was found dead in her Little Rock home and her boyfriend who shared the home with her was arrested for murder in her death.

Officer Richard Hilgeman says officers were called to the home south of downtown shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday by a man who said he had killed his girlfriend. Hilgeman says the body of 34-year-old Jessica Berliew was found in the home and the man was still at the scene and taken into custody for questioning, then later arrested for first-degree murder.

Hilgeman says the man told detectives he killed Berliew during an argument after she arrived home from work.

A suspected cause of the woman's death was not released and the body was sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
