Dust, rain sweep across Phoenix area; report predicts more rain in coming days


PHOENIX — The Phoenix area has been hit by another dust and rain storm.

KTVK-TV reports ( ) that the latest monsoon storm spread across the region Saturday evening and at times packed winds of 40 mph.

The National Weather Service issued a dust storm warning and said that blowing wind would hamper visibility for drivers.

The dust storm was followed by thunderstorms in different parts of the area that produced heavy rain.

The station says that a hurricane in the Pacific is pumping moisture into the state and as a result, the region should expect to see more rain in coming days.
