SCOTTSVILLE, New York — Authorities say a crash involving a school bus and car has left a woman motorist severely injured and several children being checked for minor injuries.

Monroe County sheriff's deputies tell local media outlets the woman pulled into the path of the bus carrying from 20 to 30 children home from a field trip late Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened in the village of Scottsville, 12 miles southwest of Rochester.

A photo from the scene shows the bus upright on the shoulder and the heavily-damaged car beside a utility pole.
