New trial dates set for pair charged with murder in slaying of 17-month-old eastern Iowa girl

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Trial dates have been set for two eastern Iowa people charged with murdering a 17-month-old girl in March 2010.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (http://bit.ly/Kfbc3r) that 28-year-old Amy Jo Parmer is scheduled to begin trial Sept. 17 in Linn County District Court. She's charged with first-degree murder and child endangerment in the slaying of Kamryn Schlitter, who died from a head trauma on March 28, 2010.

Twenty-five-year-old Zyriah Schlitter is Parmer's ex-boyfriend and the father of Kamryn. He, too, is charged with first-degree murder and child endangerment. His trial is scheduled to begin on Dec. 3.

Zyriah Schlitter and Parmer originally were to be tried together starting next Tuesday.
