FLORIDA, VULNERABLE TO ZIKA VIRUS, GETS READY FOR FIGHT

Florida Gov. Rick Scott says the state has three new cases of Zika and he's adding a fifth county to his health emergency declaration. Scott said Thursday at a news conference in Tampa that the 12 cases in Florida are all from people who became infected with the mosquito-borne virus when they traveled to other countries.

BILL TO LET TERMINALLY ILL USE MEDICAL MARIJUANA ADVANCES

Sen. Rob Bradley's measure, which passed the Fiscal Policy Committee on Thursday, has gone back to its original intent — allowing those with terminal conditions to use nonsmokable marijuana of all strengths and doses.

Jurors say a central Florida woman who won $1 million lottery jackpot must pay $291,000 to her former boyfriend, who had claimed he gave her the money to buy the ticket.
