Mass. lawyer, one-time Boy Scout leader, pleads guilty to child sexual enticement charges

WORCESTER, Massachusetts — A Massachusetts lawyer, who was also a middle school substitute teacher and Boy Scout leader, has pleaded guilty to federal charges of using the Internet to try to entice young boys into unlawful sexual conduct.

Andrew Myers of Northbridge pleaded guilty Wednesday to enticing and attempting to entice minors for sex, and possession of child pornography. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 9.

Prosecutors say the 34-year-old Myers sent graphic emails to several minor boys proposing to perform sex acts on them.

Myers' crimes were discovered when the mother of a 12-year-old Larimer County, Colorado, boy went to police with evidence of sexually explicit chats between her son and a man police determined was Myers.

The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/14ZtaPe) reports that Myers said in court he did not contest the allegations.
