State police: Arcadia woman, 49, killed in 3 vehicle accident north of Ruston

RUSTON, Louisiana — State police say a 49-year-old Arcadia woman has died in a three vehicle at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 821 and Highway 33 north of Ruston.

Trooper Albert Paxton says a truck driven by 42-year-old Gregory Hinton, of Choudrant, was westbound on Highway 821, failed to stop at the intersection and hit a car driven by 49-year-old Trekina Williams.

Paxton says the car then traveled into a parking lot and struck a parked truck.

Paxton says Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger in the car suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital in Ruston.

Paxton says Hinton was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign and driving with an expired driver's license. The crash remains under investigation.
