IDABEL, Okla. — A former Southern Arkansas University student accused of bringing stolen horses from the school into Oklahoma has been bound over for trial.
McCurtain County District Attorney Mark Matloff said Monday a judge found probable cause that Jaci Jackson committed all three felonies and scheduled a June 4 formal arraignment.
The former school rodeo team member is charged with animal cruelty, concealing stolen property and knowingly bringing stolen property into the state.
Prosecutors allege Jackson stole five horses from the university's stables in Magnolia. Four of the horses were found alive in McCurtain County and a fifth — named Credit Card — was shot to death and had its throat cut.
Jackson's attorney, Richard Stout, didn't immediately return a message seeking comment.
Jackson faces related charges in Arkansas.
