Police looking into early-morning armed robbery, assault at Sioux Falls convenience store


SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota — Police are investigating an early-morning armed robbery and assault at a Sioux Falls convenience store.

The incident was reported at 4:18 a.m. Sunday at the Freedom Value Center. The male suspect allegedly pulled a black semi-automatic handgun from his coat pocket and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk told police he was struck in the head with the handgun when he was unable to open the register. The clerk says he fell to the ground and the man fled the store.
