KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Reese Holliday scored 16 points, Martez Harrison added 14 and Missouri-Kansas City eased past Utah Valley 69-50 on Thursday.

The Kangaroos (12-17, 7-5 Western Athletic Conference) made 11 of 27 from beyond the arc (41 percent) and outrebounded Utah Valley 39-27.

UMKC ran up a 14-4 lead over the first seven minutes of the game as Utah Valley missed nine of its first 11 shots. The Wolverines recovered to close the gap to four with 4:13 left in the half on Chad Ross' layup and trailed 32-26 at the break.

Utah Valley started the second half hot and took a 37-35 lead after three 3-pointers by Jaden Jackson. UMKC retook the lead with two straight three-point plays by Holliday, then later in the half extended the lead to 14 after a 10-0 run, including a Holliday 3-pointer.

Jackson, a junior college transfer, led Utah Valley (10-17, 4-8) with a Division I career-high 19 points.
