Police investigating after a clerk opens fire, kills man at North Nashville gas station

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Police say a clerk shot and killed a man at a North Nashville gas station.

WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/1dX6Cuy ) reports the clerk shot the man several times at a Paul's Market around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. According to police, the clerk opened fire after the man tried to jump over the counter. The victim was taken to Vanderbilt Hospital, where he died.

Metro police are reviewing surveillance video. It was not clear if the victim was armed.

The investigation is ongoing.
