LITTLE FALLS, New York — State Police on the New York State Thruway are investigating a fatal tractor trailer crash in upstate New York.

The accident occurred around 7 a.m. Friday near Little Falls in the Town of Danube. Troopers say the rig was hauling vehicle tires and was eastbound when 57-year-old driver William Salley of Dallas drove off the south edge of the four-lane highway and hurtled down an embankment, striking numerous trees.

Salley was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police say no other vehicles were involved.
