BENSON, Arizona — A stretch of Interstate 10 in southern Arizona will be closed briefly Sunday morning so an oversized truck can pass.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says eastbound I-10 in Benson will be closed for 30 minutes at the State Route 90 interchange so a truck can travel west in those lanes for about a mile.
Officials say the truck cannot handle the westbound I-10 exit. It also is too heavy for a bridge on State Route 82, which otherwise would have been an alternate route.
Department of Public Safety officers will accompany the oversized truck as it goes through Arizona.
The closure will take place sometime between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Motorists are advised to expect delays or adjust their travel schedules to avoid I-10 in Benson.
