Violinist Daniel Hope signs on for another 3 years as Savannah Music Festival programmer

SAVANNAH, Ga. — One of the guiding figures behind programming the Savannah Music Festival has signed on for another three years.

Festival organizers said Wednesday it has extended violinist Daniel Hope's contract through 2015. Hope has served as associate artistic director of the festival for the past nine years. He's largely responsible for programming its chamber music concerts.

Hope has also been a featured performer at many of the Savannah festival's concerts. His appearances include playing alongside Mia Farrow with the Beaux Arts Trio, a performance of an original composition by former Police drummer Stewart Copeland and playing in the Savannah Music Festival production "Gershwin for Lovers."

The festival opens in Savannah each March.
