EUNICE, Louisiana — A 30-year-old Eunice woman has been arrested for warrants related to a dog attack on a letter carrier.
The Advertiser reports (http://bit.ly/11qtPqV) Nicole Courville was booked with cruelty to animals, negligent injury, and dogs running loose, a Eunice city ordinance. She appeared before a state judge Thursday and bond was set at $4,500.
The newspaper reports Courville remains in the Eunice City Jail.
On Tuesday, St. Landry Parish officers responded to a call where two pit bulls attacked a letter carrier. Police say the post employee suffered bites to the forearm and legs, but was treated and released from Acadiana Medical Center the same day.
One of the pit bulls attacked an officer and was shot dead. The other was captured unharmed.
It was unclear whether Courville has an attorney.
