Man, woman struck and killed while crossing State Road 7 in South Florida

MARGATE, Florida — Two pedestrians died when a minivan hit them as the crossed State Road 7 near Fort Lauderdale.

Margate police say the crash happened just early Thursday morning as the man and woman walked across the street.

Miami television station NBC6 (http://bit.ly/10ROlpA ) reports the driver of the 2011 Toyota Sienna stayed at the scene. The pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police spokesman Gary Paquin says the crash is under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call police.
