SAN DIEGO — Calvin Hermanson scored nine of his 12 points in the first half as Saint Mary's built a double-digit lead early and cruised to a 60-43 victory over San Diego on Saturday night.

Joe Rahon had 13 points to lead the Gaels (19-3, 10-2 West Coast Conference), who bounced back from a 70-59 loss at BYU on Thursday, and have won five of their last six games. Dane Pineau added 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Jito Kok scored 11 points for San Diego (8-15, 3-9). The Toreros shot just 35 percent on 19-of-54 shooting, missed all 11 3-point attempts and scored a season-low 43 points.

San Diego missed 11 of its first 13 shots as the Gaels jumped out on a 15-4 run and built a 31-19 halftime lead.

Saint Mary's outrebounded San Diego 46-30.
