Marc Marquez had already successfully defended his MotoGP title and the Spaniard won again on Sunday for a record 13 victories this season. That broke Mick Doohan's mark of 12 wins which had stood since 1997.

Jack Miller won the season-ending Moto3 race but could not overcome an 11-point disadvantage against Alex Marquez. The Australian finished second in the overall championship.
