HOUMA, La. — A 20-year-old woman has been arrested by the sheriff's office for molestation of a juvenile, after admitting to having a romantic relationship with a 13-year-old girl.
Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois says Destinee Elizabeth Chaisson was booked Monday into the Terrebonne Parish jail.
The sheriff's office says Chaisson admitted to having a romantic relationship with the girl.
The Courier reports (http://bit.ly/JpwKey ) an investigation began last week after authorities received a complaint about the alleged relationship and Chaisson was picked up for questioning while at the girl's home. The sheriff's office says Chaisson admitted to having a romantic relationship with the girl.
Chaisson faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. She's being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. Her arraignment date is set for June 14.
