Troopers: woman, 7-year-old son robbed by masked man after withdrawing money from ATM in Bear

NEWARK, Delaware — The Delaware State Police says a Newark woman and her 7-year-old son were the victims of a robbery after withdrawing money from a bank ATM in Bear.

Troopers say the robbery happened Saturday at about 6 p.m. on Fox Hunt Drive. Troopers say the woman and her son had just withdrawn money and were walking back to their car when a man wearing a mask approached the two armed with a knife and demanded money. The man then grabbed an undisclosed amount of money out of the 7-year-old's hands and fled on foot.

Neither the woman nor the child were injured.
