Upper Peninsula man, 50, sentenced to life in prison in slaying of 79-year-old wife

BESSEMER, Michigan — A 50-year-old Upper Peninsula will spend the rest of his life in prison in the slaying of his 79-year-old wife.

WLUC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/16hPedW ) that Kenneth Peters of Bessemer was sentenced Wednesday in a Gogebic County courtroom.

A jury convicted Peters earlier this month of first-degree murder in the slaying of 79-year-old Ethel Grzena-Peters.

Authorities say Grzena-Peters last was seen alive on Aug. 3. Her body was found Aug. 13 in Gogebic County's Watersmeet Township, just north of the Wisconsin state line.
