Winter storm warning for portions of southeast Wyoming; up to foot of snow in mountains

CHEYENNE, Wyoming — A winter storm warning remains in effect for portions of southeast Wyoming.

The warning area includes parts of Laramie, Albany and Carbon counties, including the cities of Cheyenne and Laramie.

The National Weather Service says 3 to 6 inches of snow is possible in lower elevations while up to a foot is possible in the mountains.

A separate winter weather advisory is in effect for an adjoining area that includes Torrington, Wheatland, Chugwater, Glendo and Saratoga.

No major highways are closed but the Wyoming Department of Transportation says roadways are slick, including black ice in some areas.

Speeds along stretches of Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Laramie are down to 35 mph.
