LAWTON, Oklahoma — The second-degree murder trial of a Lawton man in the fatal shooting of a man outside a bar is set to begin.

The Lawton Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/1bmgJ2p ) that the trial of 46-year-old Bryan Dutton is to begin with jury selection Monday morning.

Dutton has pleaded not guilty in the April 2014 shooting death of 35-year-old Sam Ruffin outside the Dew Drop Inn in Lawton.

Ruffin's girlfriend testified during a preliminary hearing that she and Ruffin were arguing in the parking lot when Dutton yelled at Ruffin and Ruffin yelled back. The girlfriend — Corlette Tahhahwah — said Dutton then got out of his vehicle with a gun and that she pushed his arm away so it wasn't pointing at Ruffin.

She said Ruffin then approached Dutton and Dutton shot him.
