Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in San Jose, second in 24 hours

SAN JOSE, California — Police in San Jose are investigating their second officer-involved shooting in 24 hours that has left a suspect dead.

The San Jose Mercury News reports (http://bayareane.ws/1NC17Ns ) San Jose police officers had gone to a home Monday night as part of an investigation into a homicide last week.

Police say a San Jose police officer opened fire, shooting a suspect who died at the scene. No one else was injured.

Police did not say what led the officer to shoot the suspect.

This is San Jose Police Department's second officer-involved shooting in 24 hours and the fourth in nine days.

Another suspect in the homicide last week was shot and killed by police Sunday night in San Jose.
