LYONS, New York — A 34-year-old Rochester man has received the maximum prison sentence for killing a mother and daughter inside a western New York home last year.

Local media report that Dante Taylor was sentenced Thursday in Wayne County Court to life without parole.

Taylor was convicted in September of first-degree murder in the fatal stabbings of 54-year-old Terri Moulton and her 30-year-old daughter, Stacey Moulton.

State police say the women had gone to a neighbor's house in the town of Sodus in July 2013 to feed a pet cat when they interrupted Taylor burglarizing the home.

Charles Moulton discovered his wife and daughter's bodies several hours later when he went to find out why they hadn't returned home.
