FREDERICK, Maryland — Police say they've charged two men in a shooting at Frederick High School that injured two teenage boys last month.

Frederick police officials say the men were arrested Tuesday, weeks after the teens were shot outside the school's gymnasium. A junior varsity basketball game was in progress against crosstown rival Gov. Thomas Johnson High.

Police said Wednesday that 21-year-old Brandon Tyler and 19-year-old Chandler Davenport face four counts each of assault, use of a handgun in a felony or violent crime and other charges.

Police would not comment on the motive but said there was a gang connection and the victims and defendants knew each other.

The victims were 14 and 15. Both are recovering from their injuries.
