Enrollment rises, may reach record, at Southeast Missouri State University

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri — Enrollment is on the rise at Southeast Missouri State University.

The Cape Girardeau-based university says fall semester enrollment is at 11,580, up 2 percent from a year ago. The university says enrollment figures are expected to grow slightly over the next few weeks and will likely surpass last year's record of 11,917.

Beginning freshman enrollment is up 7.6 percent to 1,859.
