BRIGHTON, Colorado — A jury has convicted a 23-year-old man of shooting his ex-girlfriend to death at a suburban Denver hotel.
The Adams County District Attorney's Office says Seth Wilkinson was convicted Friday of first-degree murder in the Dec. 14, 2012, death of 20-year-old Antida Archuleta. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 22.
Prosecutors say Wilkinson went to Archuleta's workplace at the Savannah Suites Hotel in Westminster and shot her three times in the head and once in the arm. He then shot himself in the chin.
Wilkinson had gone to Archuleta's grandparents' home earlier in the day and confronted her about her new boyfriend, threatening to kill himself. The day after the shooting, police found a suicide note in Wilkinson's bedroom.
