1 person killed, several others hospitalized after car and pickup collide in eastern Iowa

WASHINGTON, Iowa — Authorities say one person has been killed and several others injured in a collision between a car and pickup in eastern Iowa.

Iowa State Patrol and Washington County sheriff's officers responded to the crash around 4:30 p.m. Sunday on G38 about two miles west of Washington.

The patrol says Timothy Milligan, of Montrose, was driving west in his pickup when he tried to turn around in the road. The truck was struck by a westbound car driven by Craig Batholomew, of Washington.

The patrol says a car passenger, 46-year-old Dennis Albright, of Washington, was killed. Bartholomew, Milligan and five other people in Milligan's truck were hospitalized, including three children in car seats.
