LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Minnesota Vikings quarterback and former University of Louisville standout Teddy Bridgewater has been selected as grand marshal of the Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade later this month.

Bridgewater was quarterback for the Cardinals from 2011 to 2013. After graduation, he was selected by the Vikings in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. He was the NFL Rookie of the Year in his first season.

The parade travels along Broadway from Campbell to Ninth streets on April 30. The festival says about 100 units will take part.

The festival produces nearly 70 events in the spring.
