Metro: 5 of 6 rail lines affected by weekend work over Memorial Day weekend

WASHINGTON — Metro says five of its six rail lines will be impacted by work over the Memorial Day weekend.

Metro says that on Saturday and Sunday trains on the yellow, blue, orange and silver lines will run every 24 minutes. On Monday, trains on the yellow and blue lines will run every 18 minutes. There will be regular service, trains every 15 minutes, on the orange and silver lines.

On the red line, trains will operate every 20 minutes, but from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. there will be trains every 10 to 12 minutes between Grosvenor and NoMa-Gallaudet. There will be regular weekend service on the green line.

On Monday, for the Memorial Day holiday, the Metro system will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight.
