Teenager exiting school bus robbed of $5, shoes


NEW ORLEANS — A 14-year-old boy was robbed by two men of $5 and his shoes after getting off a school bus in eastern New Orleans.

New Orleans Police say the incident happened Tuesday at the intersection of Dwyer Road and Westlake Drive about 4:30 p.m.

Police tell The New Orleans Advocate ( ) when the boy got off the bus, a man exited a black SUV, knocked the boy to the ground and demanded his cash. A second suspect got out of the vehicle, took out a gun and demanded the boy's shoes.

The suspects fled.

The victim was treated and released from an area hospital.
