Parents face aggravated assault charges after Billings infant critically injured on Christmas


BILLINGS, Montana — A Billings couple were arrested after their infant son was critically injured on Christmas night.

Billings police say the 2-month-old baby was taken to St. Vincent Hospital by ambulance and was listed in critical condition on Friday.

The Billings Gazette reports ( ) officers arrested 28-year-old Brandon Edwards and 23-year-old Kayla Edwards on suspicion of aggravated assault. They remained jailed Friday and had not appeared in court.

Officers say medical personnel responded at 8 p.m. Thursday to a report of an infant not breathing. They noted suspicious injuries on the infant and called police.

Detectives interviewed the parents and arrested them.

Lt. Jeremy House confirmed the injured infant has a twin sister.
