Louisiana State Police: 2 men killed in head-on crash on US 65 in Madison Parish

TALLULAH, Louisiana — Louisiana State Police say two men died in a head-on crash in Madison Parish.

Senior Trooper Michael Reichardt says the three-vehicle accident happened at 12:25 a.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 65 approximately 5 miles north of Tallulah.

Reichardt says a small SUV driven by 60-year-old Wayne Kearns, of Dothan, Alabama, was southbound when the vehicle cross the center line and struck a northbound pickup driven by 61-year-old Charles Peeler, of Lake Providence, Louisiana.

Reichardt says a Chevrolet Suburban driven by 58-year-old Karen Teamer, of Lake Providence, struck the pickup causing minor damage to her vehicle.

He says Kearns and Peeler were pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison Parish coroner. Teamer was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
