PONTIAC, Mich. — Jim O'Rourke has been named publisher of the Journal Register Co.'s four Michigan daily newspapers and other operations in the state.
O'Rourke will oversee operations of The Oakland Press in Pontiac, The Macomb Daily in Mount Clemens, the Morning Sun in Mount Pleasant, and the Daily Tribune in Royal Oak, as well as 42 non-daily papers and 40 multi-platform news operations in Michigan. The Yardley, Pa.-based company announced his appointment Monday, effective May 29.
O'Rourke most recently served as vice president for consumer marketing for GateHouse Media Inc. He succeeds Jerry Bammel.
