Number of passengers down more than 7 percent in June at TF Green Airport

WARWICK, Rhode Island — Passenger traffic in June at Rhode Island's T.F. Green Airport was down more than 7 percent compared to the same period last year.

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation said Friday the number of passengers flying into and out of the state's main airport in Warwick was 308,534, down from 332,925 in June 2013.

Overall for the year, passenger traffic at Green was down nearly 7 percent. There were 1,714,958 passengers in the first six months of 2014, compared to 1,840,910 in the first six months of last year.

People who make round trips are counted twice in the statistics.

Total cargo was up nearly 4 percent compared to last June and more than 3 percent year-to-date.
