DECATUR, Georgia — The DeKalb County Police Department is welcoming nearly two dozen new officers to the force.

Officials say 23 new officers will receive their badges and take their oath during a graduation ceremony Thursday morning at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts Center.

Police say the new officers have gone through 26 weeks of training and will complete an addition eight to 12 weeks of field training after graduation.

Officials say the new officers are the department's 99th graduating class.
