NEW YORK — Cougar Ridge rallied to beat Mr Palmer by 1½ lengths in the $79,000 allowance feature Sunday at Aqueduct.
Irad Ortiz, Jr. was aboard for his third win of the day. The 3-year-old gelding trained by Eddie Kenneally got his third win in nine starts. The time was 1:50.89 for 1 1/8 miles on the track rated good.
Cougar Ridge, the early trailer in the six-horse field, paid $8.30, $3.90 and $2.80. Mr Palmer returned $2.90 and $2.70 as the 3-2 favorite, while Two is to Many paid $4 to show.
