Death of cyclist participating in Sudbury triathlon remains under investigation


SUDBURY, Massachusetts — Authorities are still investigating the death of a bicyclist who was participating in a weekend triathlon in Sudbury.

The district attorney's office says 53-year-old Saadin Solah was struck by a pickup truck on Route 27 at about 9 a.m. Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and waited for emergency personnel to arrive. The driver's name was not made public.

Solah was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His hometown was not released.

Solah was participating in the Sudbury Sprint Triathlon. Organizers in a statement expressed condolences.
