OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has rejected appeals of a Yukon man who was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for killing an Oklahoma City woman.

The court on Friday rejected appeals by 30-year-old Ryan Cody Gothard that a defense witness was wrongly prevented from testifying and that a hearing should have been held before the prosecution's firearm's expert testified.

Gothard was convicted of the May 2012 shooting death of 50-year-old Janica Shoals in northwest Oklahoma City.

Gothard said he had visited Shoals, but denied killing her.
