Baton Rouge police identify woman killed Monday night, struck by car on 72nd Ave.

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Baton Rouge police have identified a woman killed Monday night when she was struck by a car as she was walking in the middle of 72nd Avenue.

Cpl. Don Coppola tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1qZqQsI ) 35-year-old Maria Cunningham was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coppola says investigators suspect she may have been drinking alcoholic beverages or she was on drugs before she was hit.
